About scaling new heights 2019
June 16-19, 2019 – Salt Lake City

Scaling New Heights is an internationally-renowned, in-depth training conference for accountants, bookkeepers and other small business advisors.

Each year, over one thousand of the world’s leading small business advisors and over 100 of the world’s leading software developers gather to gain knowledge, cross-refer services, develop practice skills…and more!

At the 2019 Scaling New Heights Conference the theme is “The Transformative Advisor.”

In addition to our internationally-renowned technology and practice development training, we will design some of our breakout sessions and main stage presentations at the 2019 conference to equip small business advisors to coach their clients in the areas of technology adoption, financial analysis, operational measurements, team leadership…and more!

Joe drills Down on the Transformative Advisor Concept in a Recent Podcast Episode.

“Become a trusted advisor.” We have heard this challenge echo throughout the accounting profession over the past few years – from thought leaders, peers and even the developers of prominent accounting solutions.

At WoodardTM we have three problems with this challenge:

  1. We believe most accounting professionals are already trusted advisors – meaning they have earned and maintain their clients trust in the areas of confidentiality and competency.
  2. Because of the bullet above, we believe most accounting professionals dismiss the challenge as a goal already accomplished. In other words, they mentally “check the box.”
  3. The first bullet above describes a passive form of trust. Though passive trust is critical in any professional environment, active trust is intensely client-focused and leads to positive changes as a result of the trust the client places in the professional.

We call active trusted advisory “transformation advisory,” and we define transformation as an increase in wealth, where that wealth is often financial, but could focus on less literal forms of wealth like the company’s reputation (i.e. brand), culture, infrastructure, technology, scalability, etc. And, transformation work can also benefit the business owner directly through peace of mind, work/life harmonization, and enhanced leadership skills.

Accountants are perfectly positioned to be agents of business transformation, and businesses desperately need someone to play this role. So, we created a slate of resources to equip accountants to be transformative advisors.

  • LOVED IT! Met tons of friends, new & old. Connected with several new people who have gone through or are going through the same challenges I am. Most of the breakouts I went to were fantastic - practical, technical, and pointed me in the right direction.

    Soochie Sabol
  • They really stepped up the conference. I was so pleased that all of the sessions were not sales pitches and full of excellent content that was executable. Tons of information and an excellent time to network. Great balance so that there was time to meet with your peers.

    Jan Vuicich
  • I agree. Love how much exhibit hall time was built in and that the evenings weren't over-scheduled so we had time to break off and do what we wanted.

    Stacey Byrne
  • I watched main stage on and really benefited from hearing Les McKeown again. Love Mark Wickersham only wish I was there to here what the price on the package was and if he got the contract. Matt Rissell bringing his family up and keeping it real. Glad he is doing well. Every vendor can learn so much from Tsheets support and their Promise - to make us look great to every client. I can't remember his exact words - but the promise is real.

    Jill Frillman
  • It being my first accounting conference ever, my mind was blown the first day I got there. It was so encouraging, enlightening, and excited for me! Yes, I'm a newbie, and the way I receive it will be different than some of the seasoned SNH veterans. I walked away with so much content I am still going through it all! But most importantly, I came home with a renewed sense of self - a confirmation that this is my calling 🙂

    Megan Burger
  • Joe, you and your staff do such a great job. I always come away with so much each year. Thanks.

    Cherri Rapp
  • Thanks so much...great job Woodard team!!

    Katherine Wynne-Jones
  • The is the best overall conference I have attended, well worth my investment.

    Patty Ramus
  • Everyone on the SNH team works really hard to make each year special.

    Mark Hornek
  • Overall good variety of technical classes and personal development, and time for main stage and vendors.

    Lisa Ortquist
  • This was my first time at SNH and I was very impressed. Joe's passion was contagious and really drove the momentum of the conference. The Yeti but was a little overly theatrical but I applaud the effort to keep the group engaged and look forward to doing this again next year and bringing some of my staff along with me!

    Kyle Pearson
  • Can't say enough about the quality and applicability of SNH training in my business and in my life.

    Dieneke Heerema
  • I believe the Woodard Group is a true supporter and advocate for ProAdvisors and our businesses! Thank you for all you do!
